Setenta años después de su día de la boda el 24 de noviembre de 1945, Cao y Yuehua y Wang Deyi regresaron al parque en el suroeste de China, donde se convirtieron en marido y mujer.
Con la ayuda de sus cuatro hijos, la pareja marcó la ocasión trascendental recreando su foto de la boda tomada hace siete décadas, con un vestido semejante, esmoquin y flores.
La pareja también recreó su foto de la boda de su 60 aniversario en 2005.
“Ellos han estado juntos por tanto tiempo, pasando por la guerra, la agitación y las enfermedades de política, y aún pueden permanecer unos con otros y amarnos unos a otros,” el hijo de la pareja Cao Pangpei, 60, dijo a CNN. “Queremos ayudar a conmemorar su amor.”

On November 24, 1945, in Chongqing's Northern Hot Springs Park, a young newlywed couple snapped some photos on their long-awaited wedding day. 70 years later to the day, the couple returned to the same park to remember their platinum anniversary and retake those photos from so long ago. Cao Yuehua and Wang Deyi, both 98-years-old, have always been the perfect couple, the "Fudan genius" and the "Jiaotong beauty." Together during World War II they fled Shanghai and ended up in Chongqing where they enlisted as soldiers to fight against the Japanese invaders. Cao was sent to the Burma front, whenever he would have time, he would write love letters and mail them to Wang. An intelligent amateur poet, fluent in three foreign languages, these notes made quite the impression. In fact, one of the letters was so moving that more than 50 years later it won a contest as "the world's most romantic love letter." This isn't the first time that they've returned to the place where they were married. For their 60th anniversary the couple came back as well. They also have been known before to recreate some of their favorite photos from the past.
